Summit Health is the largest primary care service provider in rural SA. The Summit Health Mental Health Service (SHMHS) is a well-respected and recognised provider of high quality therapeutic and counselling interventions across the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.

Mental Health Clinician Adelaide Hills – Mt Barker 1.0 FTE

Contract to 30th June 2020

$80,868-$86,154 pa per 1.0 FTE  negotiable plus generous salary packaging arrangements available

We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to work in our Primary Mental Health Care Psychological Therapies Service and GP Mental Health Shared Care programs.

These programs variously involve a range of short term, solutions focused approaches for individuals with mild to moderate mental health issues across the age span, including counselling for children under 12 years of age, and longer term, coordinated care interventions for those with more severe disorders.

  • Services will primarily be delivered from the Summit Health Centre at Mt Barker but clinicians may be required to travel within the region to deliver services.
  • Skills and experience in working with children under twelve and their families, adolescents and young adults will be favourably regarded.
  • Skills and experience in intake and assessment, including suicide risk, will be favourably regarded.
  • 0.8 FTE appointment and job sharing will be considered.

For appointment to this position, you will hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Nursing professions and fulfil all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration with the relevant professional association. In addition to AHPRA registration, appointment as a mental health nurse requires a current practicing certificate and a qualification in mental health practice. Social Workers must have AASW Mental Health accreditation.
