• Formulate a clinical plan related to identified risks as a result of holistic assessment process

Skin Tear Management

• Assess and classify skin tears utilising recognised skin tear protocols
• Formulate clinical plan and treatment pathway for management of skin tears

Chronic wound case study

• Clinically distinguish between infection in acute versus chronic wounds (overt compared to covert signs & symptoms) & the role of early antimicrobial intervention (Acticoat, Iodosorb, Durafiber Ag, Allevyn Ag) accordingly

Brief introduction to NPWT

‘Basics, Theory and Devices’

• Understand the principles of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
• Articulate the clinical rationale for NPWT treatment
• Describe how to select the right device

Minor Burns Management

• Articulate the process of early burn evaluation and first aid
• Explain the referral process to the State Burn Units based on clinical criteria in order to achieve best clinical outcomes

The evening will include dinner before training commences with the aim to conclude at 8:30 pm.

2 CPD hours can be obtained and a Certificate of Attendance will be provided.
