Kane Spooner (Social Worker)

Kane began his counselling career in 2014, focusing on problem gambling and alcohol and drug rehabilitation. After completing his Master of Social Work in 2018, he provided counselling services to informal community Carers as part of the Australian Government’s Carer Gateway program. As a generalist practitioner, Kane employs an integrative approach that emphasizes person-centred and non-pathologizing practices. Guided by values of humility, compassion, curiosity, and respect, Kane creates a supportive environment where clients can address a wide range of mental health and life challenges. While trained in various evidence-based models, Kane prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as the cornerstone of a successful counselling process.

Special Interests
Kane is dedicated to supporting individuals on their personal journeys of healing and growth. He adopts a transdiagnostic and process-based orientation to address psychological and emotional difficulties, tailoring therapy collaboratively to the unique needs and preferences of each client. Kane is also interested in exploring how emerging technologies can be thoughtfully integrated into therapy to enhance the therapeutic process while preserving the integrity of the client-clinician relationship.

Kane is registered with Medicare and can provide services under a NDIS agreement.

Fees

  • Individual $170 per 1 hour session
  • Medicare rebate with a Mental Care Health Plan $85.20 (Out of pocket $84.80)
