COVID-19 Vaccinations

GPcare is pleased to advise that we are an approved vaccination provider for COVID-19 vaccines.

COVID-19 vaccines are being rolled out in phases, with the most at-risk people receiving their vaccinations first. The Government have a website where you can find out when you are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Please note that the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has further recommended that:

  • The AstraZeneca vaccine should only be used in adults aged under 50 where the benefits clearly outweigh the risk for that individual and the person has made an informed decision based on an understanding of the risks and benefits.
  • People who have had the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine without any serious adverse effects can be given the second dose, including adults under 50 years.

The Australian Government places safety above all else, as it has done throughout the pandemic, and will continue to follow medical advice in protecting Australians. On this basis, the Government has accepted ATAGI’s recommendations and will move swiftly to ensure Australia’s vaccination program and advice to patients is adjusted accordingly, as per the TGA’s and Department of Health Secretary and Chief Medical Officer statements.

GPcare COVID-19 vaccination clinics are currently full until May 2021 and we are awaiting further information around vaccine supply.  Further information on booking an appointment will be available soon.
