Almost 3 months ago, CHSA informed us of the new policy for patient transfers from metropolitan hospitals. Specifically the policy seemed to take away the Doctors right to decline a transfer on clinical grounds and appeared not to have been developed in consultation with general practice. At a meeting of practices on 25.8 it was agreed that we seek formal engagement between the members and CHSA on this matter. Unfortunately there has been effectively no progress on this issue and we have written to the Regional Director seeking urgent engagement on the matter.
