
Dr Sara Stephensen
Dr Sara Stephensen was born in Canada and moved to Adelaide in 2015 to study medicine. She completed her internship in rural South Australia and continued her training in metropolitan Adelaide. In 2021, she returned to Canada, where she obtained certification in Family Medicine through the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Sara enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a particular passion for sports medicine. She has undertaken specialised placements in this field and is especially interested in supporting women in sport and exercise, assisting immigrants and refugees in accessing sports and physical activity, promoting mental health in athletes, and encouraging young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to engage in sport. She is the club doctor for the Adelaide Adrenaline Ice Hockey Club and North Adelaide Football Club.

If you would like to become a regular patient of Dr Sara Stephensen, she offers bulk-billed 30-minute meet-and-greet appointments to review your medical history and discuss your health goals. Please note that bulk billing applies only to this initial appointment, which is solely for getting to know you as a patient. If you require prescriptions, referrals, pathology, or imaging requests, or need to address specific health concerns, you will need to book an additional appointment, and the usual fee policy will apply. We kindly ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete an information-gathering form.
