Medicare Mental Health Centre Operations Lead

Full time, fixed term role until 30 June 2027 with an opportunity for extension subject to funding

About the Role

The Medicare Mental Health Centre Operations Lead supports the Centre Manager in overseeing daily operations, governance, and compliance within the Mount Barker Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC). This role leads sustainable operational improvements, workforce capability initiatives, and supports alignment with Summit Health’s strategic goals and the evolving role of MMHCs.

Working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders, the Operations Lead will:

  • Lead day-to-day operations and undertake roster management activities to ensure a safe and responsive visitor experience in line with the service model.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and performance oversight to the Peer Worker Team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the centre.
  • Support the Centre Manager to manage the financial performance of the service, including assisting with developing budgets and monitoring financial reports.

 

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in operational leadership within the health or community services sector.
  • Tertiary qualifications in healthcare management or a related field (desirable)
  • Experience mentoring or supervising peer staff and supporting performance development (desirable)
  • Full driver’s license, Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or able to obtain one)
