Mental Health Clinician
ABOUT THE ROLE
Make a real difference when it matters most. In this role, you’ll provide rapid, focused interventions to clients aged 16+, using evidence-based approaches like Single Session Therapy and Solution-Focused practice to create meaningful change. You’ll guide clients to the right supports, ensure seamless care coordination, and contribute to building a stronger, more responsive clinical service at the Medicare Mental Health Centre in Mount Barker.
This role is fixed term until 30 June 2027 with an opportunity to extend subject to funding.
ABOUT THE CENTRE
Open 365 days a year, the Medicare Mental Health Centre offers a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for people aged 16+ in distress or crisis. With no appointment required, clients can access immediate support, assessment, and brief, evidence-based care from a multidisciplinary team, including lived experience practitioners—tailored to individual needs, including AOD support.

ABOUT YOU
We are seeking clinicians who are strength-based and committed to providing inclusive and accessible mental health support, working together in a team of people with lived experience.
You’ll be experienced in brief and crisis interventions, including single session therapy and solution-focused approaches.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist OR accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as a Mental Health Social Worker (or working towards)
- Working With Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain before commencement
- Availability to work across a 7-day roster – morning, afternoon, weekend and public holiday shifts available
